For many years, we had jailbreaks as and when we wanted them. Whenever Apple released an update to the iOS, it was followed very quickly by a new utility; as hard as Apple tried to patch the exploits, a new one appeared. Now it looks like Apple has finally gotten the upper hand. Ever since they introduced a new security feature in iOS 10, jailbreaking has all but stopped and the updates from Apple just keep on coming. The latest one is the iOS 12 released in September 2018 . This time, we have some good news; there is a way to install Cydia on iOS 12 and we will be showing you how to do it. Although there are several great alternatives to Cydia , like the TweakBox app .

Before we do that, you do need to be aware that not all users will be able to install Cydia and those who can will get a limited version of the jailbreaks they are used to using but we don’t have anything else to offer right now. And it isn’t looking like the situation is going to change any time soon either so its best to take what’s on offer while we have.
How to Download iOS 12 Jailbreak :
You can download the iOS 12 jailbreak in two ways – an easy one and an advanced method which needs to be done exactly for the jailbreak to be installed. Both methods require your device and Safari browser and, although it may not work for everyone, you don’t have anything to lose so check out the link below for more details .
- Open Safari on the iPad and go to https://cydiainstaller.app/ios-12/ or use this ( alternate link )
- When our mobile page has loaded, tap the UP arrow, top right corner of your screen
- When the new page has opened, you will see several options at the bottom – choose Add to Home Screen
- Now type Cydia into the box so the icon has a name and tap the Add button
- Close Safari and the Cydia app icon is on your home page .

What’s Happened To Jailbreaking ?
Well, Apple has always said that they will knock jailbreaking on the head and it looks much like they may have succeeded. Part of it is down to the new security features they included with iOS 10 and part of it is down to the accelerated update system they have in place, not giving the developers time to look at the iOS and find any exploits before they are patched.
Although usable jailbreaks are few and far between, there have been some demonstrated, notably one from Abraham Masri called Houdini. Although we have seen videos of this working, it isn’t a full jailbreak and there is no hint on whether it will actually be released or not, so we are still playing the waiting game.
And, we need to consider the Bug Bounty Program. Apple offers the chance to get a substantial reward for reporting exploits that they can then patch, and some developers have likely been tempted by this, preferring the cash to building a workable jailbreak. Truthfully, it doesn’t matter what the reason for the lack of jailbreaks is; the fact is we are struggling to get something that everyone can use.
Do try the iOS 12 jailbreak and see if it works for you; it doesn’t cost a thing to try and you could be one of the lucky ones. Follow us on Facebook and we’ll keep you up to date.
